Outside Operations Foreman

The Outside Operations Foreman will oversee and assist in construction related to outside daily operations of the Burin Peninsula Regional Service Board.  The Outside Operations Foreman is responsible for developing and monitoring project schedules and task assignments, and overseeing quality control and safety for the project team and subcontractors. The Outside Operations Foreman reports directly to the General Manager, who oversees all operations of the Burin Peninsula Regional Service Board.

 

 

Position Description

  • Coordinate daily logistics and personnel assignments associated with outside operations

  • Assist in procurement activities, including developing requests for quotes, publishing tenders, and participating in related evaluation processes

  • Interpret project documentation, including technical drawings and specifications, and ensure adherence in construction processes

  • Monitor and maintain data on project budgets

  • Prepare reports and correspondence

  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment, and ensure personnel adherence to construction plans and safety codes

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of job sites

  • Report to General Manager on all project activities and progress

     

Position Qualifications

  • 8+ years of construction supervision experience

  • Demonstrated competence in reviewing and interpreting civil and mechanical drawings

  • Experience in project and team management, safety, budgeting, quality control, and administration

  • Proficiency with MS Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Proficiency with construction and quality control tools and equipment, such as laser levels and GPS

  • Proficiency with CAD an asset

  • Licensing for heavy equipment an asset

  • Experience in quality control, surveying, and/or civil engineering would be an asset

  • These skills and qualifications would normally be obtained through field experience, coupled with post-secondary learning in the areas of quality control, engineering, and/or construction

 

Estimated position duration: 16 weeks

Remuneration: $25/hour; 40 hours per week
